What's in a Name?

Errol Saldanha presents the argument on Beyond Graphic that the monikers graphic and graphic designer are a bit narrow for what we as creatives do in the 21st century. His thoughts under the Identity and Value sections are of particular interest to me.

I have always thought of myself as a communication designer, simply because my BFA was in Communication Design. I will answer to graphic designer, designer, and my favorite, design monkey. Just refrain from uttering graphics designer. Pretty please.
